Believe - DIVAS in a Man's World

On Wednesday, May 4, Believe - Divas in a Man’s World will be opening with a special 7 PM preview performance in the Screening Room at Resorts Atlantic City. Tickets are $50 and can be purchased at the Resorts box office or through Ticketmaster, which has offered reduced fees for this event. The ticket price includes a gourmet coffee and dessert reception with the performers, following the show. Resorts is donating the show and the reception, so all of the proceeds will benefit Gilda’s Club South Jersey!

The show officially starts its run the following evening, so we’re getting a special VIP sneak peak. This not-to-be-missed review features world famous celebrity impersonators including Cher, Bette Midler, Prince, Patti Labelle, Liza Minnelli, Lady Gaga and Joan Rivers. Their spot-on performances and costumes make for a spell binding evening.

Barbara and Dennis Gomes have been part of the Gilda’s Club South Jersey family since our beginning. Barbara is one of our Founding Trustees and they have been so generous over the years. Barbara & Dennis co-chaired the Annual Movers Shakers Difference Makers event for six years! In 2004, Barbara also chaired “Live from Atlantic City, It’s (almost) Saturday Night” with Joy Behar and Robert Klein at Tropicana - our largest fundraiser to date. Their beautiful home in Margate was the site of our second annual Cocktails on the Bay event in 2008 and a Red Door Society party last year. It is only natural that as the new owners, the Gomes’ now welcome us into Resorts. We are excited to be a part of the show and appreciate the great spirit of the Resorts Team and the Gomes family to support Gilda’s Club South Jersey in this way.

Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy in the Treatment of Specific Complications Post Radiation

Delayed radiation injuries are typically seen after a period of six months to several years after treatment is completed. Organs typically affected can be skin or internal soft tissues like the urinary tract. Wounds in the radiated area often fail to heal. Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy has been demonstrated to enhance healing and relief of symptoms. Presented by Lori Richwine, DO, Wound & Hyperbaric Medicine Specialist and Janelle McNeill, RN, MSN, CRRN, CWS of AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Wound Healing Center. Cooking with Herbs with Lisa Grey

Lisa Grey, Breast Cancer survivor/member of Gilda's Club South Florida, cookbook author, and PhD candidtate for Health Psychology (with a concentration in Nutrition) will demonstrate how to prepare simple meals with herbs. With a simple mini food processor, you can create healthy nutritious meals for you and your family every day! Held at the Gilda’s Club Living Room at AtlantiCare Cancer Care Institute.
